THIS year’s Penistone Agricultural Show will be the biggest to date.

Organisers are gearing up for the return of the annual show on September 14 and will feature competitions in everything from cattle, goats and pigs, to Victoria sponges, flower arranging and honey.

Competitors from rural areas across the country are set to attend, as they hope to show off their specific set of skills.

Show manager, Nicholas Hoyland, said: “The Penistone Agricultural Show celebrates its 151st year in 2024 and we are so proud to say that this year is the biggest to date.

“This is a fantastic day out for visitors to discover, do and delight in everything from shire horses and poultry to sheep, cattle, pigs, goats and pedigree dogs through to farming machinery, countryside crafts, young farmers, handicrafts, homecrafts and horticulture.

“Add over 250 trade stalls, a food hall, cookery demonstrations, hounds, brass bands, live music, five bars and free children’s activities and there really is something for everybody to enjoy.”
