BARNSLEY Council has triggered its Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) due to forecasted cold temperatures.
It provides emergency temporary accommodation to anyone sleeping rough to help them stay safe.
Teams will be out across Barnsley this afternoon and evening, making sure no one is sleeping rough as temperatures drop.
If you’re concerned about someone sleeping rough in the borough, please let the teams know so they can help them get the support they need sooner.
