DEARNE Area Team is organising a Winter Well-being Event later this month – and If you know anyone aged 65+ who you feel may be eligible for pension credit encourage them to go along.
An area team spokesperson said: “We have many services coming to highlight their work in the Dearne and how you could benefit from this.
“We also have 30 free winter warm packs to give away too.
“It’s a nice warm safe space with plenty of seating for you to come and have a free bacon sandwich, toast with hot refreshments for all.”
Services attending include the Warmer Homes team with details of how to keep warm with potential grants (eligibility applies), Pension Credit, Credit Union, DIAL, library service, Age U.K. with BOPPA, Live Well Barnsley and Berneslai Homes.
“Our very own Housing Officer Kevin Frisby will also be handing out items for around the home on keeping warm and safe and many more,” added the spokesperson.
“Your local area team and three local councillors Janine, Deborah and Abi will also be in attendance.”
The event is at St Andrews Community Centre, St Andrews Square (across from Ladbrokes) Bolton-upon-Dearne on Wednesday January 29, 10am - 2pm.
