A LOCAL MP wants children, parents, carers, professionals, and anyone with ideas to get involved in the government’s ‘Solving the SEND crisis’ inquiry.
Marie Tidball, Labour MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge, said: “One of the main reasons I wanted to sit on the Education Select Committee in Parliament was to drive improvements in SEND in our communities. As a former SEND-statemented child myself, I understand how important it is to get provision right.
“Currently, the crisis in support for children with SEND is unacceptable and unsustainable.
“To find solutions to fix the broken system, the Education Select Committee has launched our inquiry ‘Solving the SEND crisis’.
“We want to hear from children, parents, carers, professionals, and anyone with ideas on SEND.
“ I know many parents and teachers across Penistone and Stocksbridge have first-hand experience and insight into how our SEND system needs to change, so please feed your expertise and evidence into our inquiry.”
