FARMERS at Cannon Hall battled heavy snowfall to help new-born lambs this week.
The first lamb of the year arrived in the middle of a snowstorm on Monday evening, and since then they’ve not stopped.
Farmer Rob Nicholson, whose family runs the farm, said: “The conditions have made it very difficult, and we are very fortunate to be able to use our roundhouse building to provide much needed shelter for the expectant mums.
“It’s got off to a challenging start as the snow just adds another dimension of difficulty to the equation.”
