BARNSLEY Hospice has raised more than £7,500 through their Treecycle service.

The service allows residents to donate to the hospice while also having their Christmas tree collected at the same time.

Almost 500 trees were collected and a total of £7,587 was raised for the charity.

A spokesperson said: “We would like to thank everybody for their understanding and patience as we prioritised the safety of our staff, volunteers and corporate partners, as the snow and ice caused a delay to our original collection day.

“By using our Treecycle service, you have made a huge difference to Barnsley Hospice and the specialist palliative care we provide.”
