RESIDENTS in a care home in Stairfoot are unable to enjoy the sun as there is no umberellas to offer some shade.
The residents of High Grove, at Stairfoot, have been kept inside as the scorching weather is burning their delicate skin, even with sun cream on.
Spokesman Christian Whitely-Mason said: "We desperately need umberellas, or parasols or anything that can offer shade. They don't have to be new but we just have absolutely no budget to provide them.
"Every additional thing we buy like that has to be paid for by fund-raising. We tried putting lots of sun cream on and letting the residents sit outside but its just doesn't work. It's so hot but we are having to keep them inside because there's just no shade."
