COUNCIL binmen will collect extra sacks of waste next week due to bin collection delays following the snow and icy conditions.
A council spokesman said: “If the bins on your street have been missed, please take your bin in and put it back out ready for collection from 6am on Tuesday January 14. We'll return to empty it as soon as we can.
“We'll also collect up to three tied sacks of extra waste. Please make sure there is no glass in these sacks. The glass may cause the sacks to tear and there is also a risk of injury to our crews.
“We'll provide further updates on our progress from Wednesday January 15.”
There have also been disruptions to the business waste collection service. The council has advised businesses to visit their website for details of when they will be returning if your commercial waste bin has been missed.
