LOCAL comedian Pete Selwood is gearing up for a special homecoming gig in Penistone next month.

The 2023 Comedy Central Live star and New Yorkshire Comedian of the Year winner will perform at the Penistone Paramount on March 14 during Penistone Arts Week.

The 35-year-old has appeared in two seasons of The Emily Atack Show on ITV2, The Likely Dads on BBC Radio 4, Shane Meadows ‘Gallows Pole’ and a BBC3 Sketch alongside Jack Carroll entitled ‘Disable In Da Club’.

And he’s excited for his homecoming gig next month. He said: “I’m more of a stand-up actor and writer now – I do a variety of things.

“It’s very much a homecoming gig. I’ve done the Toby Foster night before but this will be the first time it’s been my own gig. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”

Pete has been touring up and down the country – and he’s got an exciting summer ahead.

“I’ve been doing a lot of gigs,” he said. ”I’ve done a few TV shows and a film as well which is going to be released this summer.

“It’s quite a big film but I can’t say too much about that.”
