LOCAL youngsters visited Westminster this week as guests of Penistone and Stocksbridge MP Marie Tidball.
Horizon Community College students travelled to the capital yesterday and the MP has encouraged other schools to get in touch about a visit.
“I loved welcoming pupils from Horizon Community College to Westminster yesterday. Thank you to the Palace of Westminster staff for making them feel so welcome,” said Ms Tidball.
“They asked me tough questions about my work as an MP, and some of the issues facing our constituency.
“Visiting Parliament is a brilliant opportunity for young people to learn about our democracy and civic engagement. If you’re a school in our constituency, you can also arrange to come down to Parliament for a day. I have written to every school and can help arrange for travel cost support.
