A SCHEME which aims to prevent social isolation is set to be extended due to its success.

The North East Area Council – which covers villages such as Cudworth, Monk Bretton, Royston and Grimethorpe – commissioned Age UK to run the project to identify people who could benefit from more community-centred activities.

It is set to be extended upon the current contract’s completion in June for one more year, costing £42,000.

Councillors will meet on Thursday to discuss the decision.
