NEW visiting times on antenatal and postnatal wards come into effect today.
As coronavirus restrictions begin to ease, new rules have been introduced to help keep staff, and patients safe.
From today, one named birthing partner will be able to visit between 10am to 8pm.
This is inclusive for all women – both expectant and once their baby has been born - and the named visitor must remain the same throughout and not swapped or changed.
No children will be permitted onto the ward.
Any birthing partners must present evidence of a negative lateral flow test performed within 24 hours of the visit.
Masks must be worn and visits on day of admission and discharge are now allowed.
Women who will undergo an elective caesarian will now be able to be visited by their partner after 10am.
