A COMMUNITY group has hosted a photo competition to celebrate the £5,000 worth of Christmas lights that decorated the village just a month back.
Thurnscoe Regeneration CIO has been funding the village’s lights and Christmas tree for years now.
To celebrate the community’s appreciation, the group hosted a photo competition that was won by local Becki Franiak who sent in a picture of her daughter Roza and friend Charlotte in front of the tree.
Last week they were presented with gift vouchers to celebrate the win.
She said: “It was the first time watching the lights turn on and my daughter was amazed and full of Christmas spirit.
“The magic of Christmas living in the children and community, nothing better.”
