A GROUP who are helping to provide 30 elderly residents in Royston with a Christmas dinner are looking for nominations for those why may need a festive treat - in a bid to tackle holiday hunger.
In October, volunteers from the Friends of Royston Facebook group raised funds to provide 30 elderly residents a Christmas dinner free of charge.
This comes as the country entered the second lockdown earlier this month meaning many elderly residents could be forced to self-isolate during the festive period.
Now the group is urgently appealing for nominations of elderly residents who they can deliver the meals to.
Helen Richardson, from the group, said: “We have asked several times for people to nominate an elderly resident of Royston to receive these festive meals but we’ve had hardly any nominations. We would love to help as many as we can.
“It’s hard to believe that no-one needs these meals, so please reach out to us with your nominations.
“They will all be put into a draw and the 30 meals will be delivered.”
If you know an elderly resident who could benefit from a festive meal, email friendsofroyston@outlook.com or message the Facebook page.
