A LOCAL darts player has been selected to represent Team England at the British International Championships later this year.

Carl Wilkinson from Darfield has been called up to the men’s squad at the tournament, which will be held at Golden Palm Resort in Skegness from March 28 to 30.

He ended his six-year wait for a second WDF ranking title when he won the Isle of Man Masters in March last year.

The event will see men, ladies, boys and girls from across England, Scotland and Wales compete.

A spokesperson for England Darts said: “I would personally like to thank all the players from the 2024 squads, who kindly represented England with distinction.

“As usual everyone will have their own ideas on the squads.

“However I am sure these players now joining many of the iconic names of former England players will wear the shirt with the same distinction and pride as their predecessors.

“Tickets for the event can be purchased via www.eventbrite and accommodation can be secured through the Golden Palms Resort website.

“Our best wishes to all our men, ladies and youth teams.”
