A BARNSLEY man won a car worth over £130,000 in a competition which cost him just 25p to enter.

Johnathan McLoughlin bagged himself a Mercedes G63 AMG courtesy of online competition firm BOTB.

Johnathan entered BOTB’s supercar competition, never imagining that a knock at his door would lead to the surprise of a lifetime.

BOTB presenter Christian Williams arrived unannounced to break the incredible news, only to be greeted by Johnathan popping out of the side door.

“I thought it was a parcel for my partner when the door went,” Johnathan said.

“It is unreal and it’s life-changing – the kids love it and I’ll be the cool dad now dropping them off at school in the mornings.”

The V8-powered G63 was a strategic choice for Johnathan, who admitted he had played for the car because it was his partner’s dream vehicle.

After breaking the big news, Christian took Johnathan for a celebratory spin around the block in the car, showcasing its luxurious comfort and performance.

“To play for his partner’s dream car – what a nice chap he is,” Christian said.

“It’s a little bit of an upgrade to the Golf he drives now, and what a car it will be for the school run.”
