MEDIA students from Barnsley College have been collecting food to donate to a local food bank.
The students decided to help those in need during the festive period and gave items to Barnsley Food Bank.
They each collected cans and packet foods to donate as well as putting an advert on the ‘No Restrictions Barnsley Freecycle’ Facebook page seeking donations.
Course tutor Amanda Nam said: "I’m overwhelmed by the response of the students. They've gone to a lot of trouble to organise this and it’s great that they’re helping out their local community in a time of need."
Media student Dominic Devonport, 16, added: "I’ve enjoyed taking part in this project as I want to help those who are less fortunate at Christmas."
