TEMPORARY traffic lights will be in place on a major Barnsley road later this month.

On January 26, the lights will be on Broadway between 8am to 6pm. CityFibre are responsible for the works, which are likely to cause delays.

MOTORISTS have been told that delays are possible while work takes place in Mapplewell this week. Traffic lights will be in place on Darton Lane from 8am on Monday to 8pm on Thursday. Yorkshire Water are responsible for the works.

RESURFACING work in Monk Bretton is expected to end this week. Barnsley Council staff have been undertaking resurfacing phases on Monk Bretton since the new year, which has seen rolling road closures occur. Phase one of the work – which saw resurfacing near the ‘top’ roundabout – has been completed and the second phase, near West Green Avenue, is due to end this week.

A ROYSTON road will be closed for approximately a week. Applehaigh View was closed to anyone but residents on Wednesday by OCU Group, the firm responsible for installing a new electricity connection. A diversion via Lee Lane and Summer Lane is in place.
