SIX groups which provide activities for youngsters will share more than £30,000 in funding.

Exodus Brierley, Exodus Cudworth, Ad Astra Carlton, Ad Astra Shafton, Great Houghton Youth Club and Grimethorpe Activity Zone have all been funded by the North East Area Council for 2024/25.

Meanwhile, more than £2,000 has been distributed to local community groups across the Dearne South ward over the latest three-month period.

A total of £1,320 was handed to the Barnsley Youth Theatre and £750 to Project 14 for a memorial tree in Bolton-upon-Dearne.

While £500 was handed out for the Goldthorpe Christmas Market and BODY Carnegie received £350 to support local families at Christmas.
