DARFIELD Museum is inviting people along on Wednesday to help them celebrate National Hat Day.

A museum spokesperson said: “We would love to see you come along wearing your favourite hat, or just try on some we have at the museum. Please take photos and share them with everyone. Hats are worn for many reasons, protection, ceremonial or just for bad hair days.

“The date also commemorates the day in 1797 when the Top Hat made its first appearance in court.”

The museum is open on Wednesday from 1pm-4pm.
