TWO devoted dads are appealing for local businesses to come forward to support their latest venture.
Michael and Paul Atwal-Brice, from Thurnscoe, are avid fundraisers for several charities and have won a number of awards.
They have two sets of twins – Levi and Lucas, and Lotan and Lanson.
Levi and Lucas both have severe autism, developmental delay, severe learning difficulties, are pre-verbal, and can require round-the-clock care and supervision.
They are also severely epileptic and have been hospitalised throughout their lives due to seizures.
Michael and Paul have successfully set up the Autism Allotments site – a sensory garden for autistic children across Barnsley.
It’s been a huge success and now the pair are hoping to create something for adults with learning disabilities – a project called Accessible Allotments.
But they’re asking for the public’s help.
Michael said: “The Autism Allotments are more for young people but this will be able to support adults with additional needs. There’ll be a workshop where people can learn how to make things.
“It’ll help with work and life skills. But we’re putting out a plea to any local businesses who can help. Whether it be labour or donations we’d really appreciate it.
“We have now broken the ground thanks to our friends Caddick Civil Engineering but if you think your company can help please get in touch.”
