A DARFIELD man who antagonised police officers and chanted "burn it down" in scenes of violence in Manvers last month has been jailed.
Craden McKenzie was circulated as a wanted individual following his role in the disorder on Sunday August 4 which left over 60 of our officers injured.
The 26-year-old told officers in interview that he went for a "peaceful protest". However, he was seen on footage entering the Holiday Inn Express Hotel through a smashed window before gesturing at police with his arms open and joining in with vile chants.
After handing himself in to police, McKenzie was charged with violent disorder and he pleaded guilty to the offence at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday.
On Tuesday, McKenzie, of Doncaster Road, Darfield, was jailed for a total of three years.
