MORE than £100,000 is set to be spent on improving play areas and parks in the Worsbrough ward over the coming months.
The section 106 panel signed off on £110,804 worth of funding at a meeting recently.
Worsbrough Dale Park will receive almost £50,000 to renew the surfacing, repainting play equipment and new panel games.
Ward Green Rec will received £43,000 worth of work to refurbish the site.
Whilst Highstone Lane’s play area and Bank End’s play area will both benefit to the tune of £10,000.
Coun Roy Bowser, who represents the ward, said: “Following much campaigning and discussions with the relevant council officers, Coun John Clarke and I have secured some £110,000 of public open space money for work to the play areas within the Worsbrough ward.
“Work will commence in the near future and bring much improved play facilities for families to enjoy.”
