Dog owners have been urged to take action after two postal workers were injured in the area this week.
“People have to take responsibility for their dogs, it’s not fair on innocent people,” said South Yorkshire Police Dog Liaison Officer PC Paul Jameson.
On Tuesday, a postal worker was bitten on his leg in West Melton by an out-of-control dog, where no owner was present and a second postal worker was bitten on the hand in Dodworth the following day while posting mail through a property’s door.
Owners are being urged to take action and install safety measures where possible to prevent injury.
