A BARNSLEY park was cordoned off to allow police to investigate an assault earlier today.
Officers were called to Hunningley Lane, Kendray at around 1.15am this morning (Thursday).
A 26-year-old man was reportedly assaulted by an unknown person.
He was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries that are not believed to be serious.
A police spokesman said: "A cordon was put in place around a nearby piece of land while police carried out initial enquiries but this has since been removed."
