MORE than £1m will be spent on improving drainage at three of Barnsley Council’s recycling centres.
Depots on Smithies Lane, West Street and Nicholas Lane will benefit from the ‘essential’ work for improved drainage systems.
The three sites do not currently comply with environmental guidelines, according to a report, which will be discussed by ruling cabinet members on Wednesday.
Councillors are set to sign off on the £1.1m investment.
