TRADERS have asked to have their own stalls in the old market space on Saturdays, following the success of Barnsley Council's market garden.
The installed lawns, plant displays and seating were only intended to stay during May as part of the Love Your Local Market national campaign.
The attraction was opened by 12 enterprising teenage traders who were given the chance to run their own market stalls.
Coun Roy Miller said: “These attractions and events taking place through out this year help to demonstrate what it will be like once the development of the old market space is completed, creating a thriving space for people to come together and support their town centre."
