SCHOOL pupils did their bit and helped Voluntary Action Barnsley at Dearne Valley Park last week.
Year 11 pupils from Springwell Community School were taught about woodland management, learning skills and putting up natural fencing in the park.
Voluntary Action Barnsley - which has been providing support to the voluntary and community groups for over 20 years - invited the school down to learn new skills.
Martin Sugden, business liaison manager at VAB, said: "The pupils are in their final year now so it was beneficial for them to get out and experience something new.
"It was a hands-on project which they all enjoyed."
