PENISTONE and Stocksbridge MP Marie Tidball was given a tour around Barnsley Council’s Smithies depot recently.

Teams at the depot work across highways, bereavement services, maintenance and active travel.

Ms Tidball said: “It was great to be joined by cabinet member for the environment and highways, Coun James Higginbottom.

“The briefing was excellent and I was able to pick up a number of issues local constituents have raised with me too.”
