BARNSLEY smokers are quitting the bad habit at a quicker rate than almost anywhere else across the county.
Stop smoking rates in Barnsley are the second best in the Yorkshire and the Humber.
A report states: “Barnsley Place is delighted to share that smoking cessation rates are the second highest in the Yorkshire and Humber region and are outperforming Yorkshire and the Humber and England figures.
“Smoking cessation is a priority in Barnsley and is delivered across through our partnership.”
