PLANS to convert a property into a HMO have been rejected by the council.

An application was submitted in May for the work to take place on Dearne Road in Bolton-upon-Dearne. However, these plans were turned down by Barnsley Council’s planning board last week.

PLANS to build four new bus advertisement shelters across the town have been approved. Applications for the units – in Goldthorpe, Kendray, Grimethorpe and Barnsley – were originally submitted in May. These plans were approved by the planning board last week.

PLANNING permission is being sought to demolish existing structures on a Brierley road and replace them with a new property. If approved, the work will take place on Barnsley Road. A total of 16 neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. Public consultation ends on July 30.
