SUPERJAM is back once more for another month of dementia-friendly entertainment – and they have a special Valentine’s plan for those unable to travel.

The next Superjam tea party will take place at the Dodworth Holiday Inn on Tuesday, with entertainment from Paul Anthony.

Organiser Kathy Markwick said: “The event which is now in its 11th year continues to go from strength to strength.

“We are extremely grateful to our sponsors Holiday Inn Barnsley, Haywood and Padgett, Visiting Angels South Yorkshire, GXO and Music Makes Memories – and to the Chronicle for regular features which undoubtedly encourage new guests every month.”

Tickets for the event must be booked in advance by contacting Kathy on 07729 528844 or kathymarkwick@gmail.com.

On top of the regular event, the team behind the party have also organised an event tomorrow for bed-bound care home residents who can’t travel into town.

Local singer Oliver Harris will be heading into Wakefield to Walton Manor Care Home for the pre-organised event.

Residents have attended previous Superjam gatherings, though care home staff reached out to ask for additional support for those with mobility issues.

“Sadly some of the residents were unable to attend for various reasons, so we have arranged a special ‘Superjam on the Road’ for Valentine’s Day,” Kathy added.

“We will be going to the care home armed with Oliver Harris, Haywood and Padgett’s delicious scones and cream.

“It is really lovely going to care homes and to literally ‘take the show on the road’ – the feedback we receive from these events is amazing.”
