MORE than 150 trees have been planted in Lundwood thanks to a charitable initiative that saw families spend the day enjoying local green space.
Organised by Kids Plant Trees and Barnsley Council and funded by the South Yorkshire Woodland Partnership, the event last Sunday allowed youngsters to get outside and learn more about nature.
In total, 14 adults and 17 children took part to help plant around 170 trees – with youngsters enjoying plenty of worm hunts along the way.
