BARNSLEY Foodbank Partnership has launched its summer campaign.

This year, the campaign focuses on the charity’s frontline van which delivers to a number of drop-off point across Barnsley.

The trust are hoping to raise vital funds to support the charity – with locals being encouraged to donate online.

A spokesperson said: “Our van doesn’t miss a trip, carrying an average of 60 food parcels a day – which sometimes means more than one trip.

“Our volunteer drivers are fantastic, donating their own time to make these much-needed trips.

“With the rise in demand, we’re giving out significantly more food parcels than ever – an average of double the amount we gave out during the Covid-19 pandemic.”
