A CHARITY football event in memory of a young Birdwell man who died in 2022 raised more than £1,200 last weekend.
George Cowell lost his life aged 20 and was incredibly popular with all those that knew him.
His family and friends took part in their third charity football event on Sunday with the event taking place at Swinton Athletic’s ground.
The day kicked off at 12pm, with four teams taking part.
A total of £1,263 was raised by all in attendance on the day and all funds will go to the charity 4Louis whose members work across the country to support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child.
