IT may be several months since Locke Park Bonfire but the proceeds from the event are still helping local causes.
Barnsley Round Table members, who organise the annual bonfire and firework display, recently handed over £500 to Barnsley Food Bank to help with the vital work they do.
A Round Table spokesperson said: “We are delighted to donate £500 to Barnsley Food Bank. They supported 6,798 people with food between August 23/24, including 2,117 children.
“The food bank has now been open for over 11 years and continues to serve the people of Barnsley.
“We have lots more donations coming up soon so please keep an eye on socials. Thank you as always for attending the bonfire event and making what we do possible!”
