A BARNSLEY Hospital porter has almost reached his fund-raising target as he prepares for a high-flying start to April.
Luke Callaghan is taking to the skies on April 4 to continue his daredevil feats for a local charity with a 15,000-feet skydive.
Adrenaline-seeking Luke, 29, has raised funds for Barnsley Hospital Charity previously and has already raised £619 on his JustGiving page for his latest feat.
He took part in the Barnsley Hospital Charity’s firewalk in November, raising £485 for the ‘Make a Memory’ appeal, which is improving services in the hospital’s elderly ward. The skydive donations will go to the same appeal.
Luke is looking forward to the event and said: "I think if I can do it then anyone else can do it. I am doing this for Barnsley Hospital charity for those who are living with dementia and I want to say from the bottom of my heart thank you so much to those who have already taken time to donate, it’s much appreciated.”
