THE Mayor of Barnsley visited Barnsley Hospice recently to hand over a £1,000 cheque.
Coun John Clarke, alongside the mayoress Doreen, handed over the cheque on behalf of Dove Valley Events.
A spokesperson for the hospice added: “It was a real pleasure to welcome the Mayor of Barnsley, John Clarke, for a visit to Barnsley Hospice and our retail hub in Dodworth.
“The mayor and mayoress met with our staff who explained about the services which we are proud to provide for the people of Barnsley and their loved ones.
“We were incredibly grateful to receive a cheque from the mayor for £1,000, donated on behalf of Dove Valley Events.
“Thank you to the mayor and mayoress for the visit and showing great interest in our hospice and retail hub.”
