THE head coach of a football team for children with disabilities and learning difficulties was custard pied 11 times to raise funds to help with pitch hire costs.
Connor Rollinson, who runs the Springwell Learning Community-based South Yorkshire Superheroes team, also plays football for Dodworth Miners’ Welfare.
The 29-year-old, from Cudworth, said: “While I ended up absolutely covered in cream it was great to see all the children with smiles on their faces.
“We have raised a lot of money – more than £300 – which is going to help massively with our pitch hire costs so I’m very pleased with the outcome.
“We had two options, either raise money or increase subscription fees – we chose to raise money because we didn’t think raising the subs was fair.”
