A CHILDREN’S home has received a good Ofsted rating in a recent report which celebrates the work of staff.
Run by the council, the unidentified venue provides care for up to ten children with learning and physical disabilities and can offer short-break arrangements for up to eight children.
Ofsted inspectors visited the home on October 1 and 2, rating the home as good overall, but noting that the effectiveness of leaders and managers ‘requires improvement’.
Staff were praised, with inspectors saying they have a ‘good understanding of the children’s complex health needs’, and that children have ‘access to a variety of social opportunities and activities – enjoy playing in the garden, sensory play, listening to music and craft activities’.
Coun Trevor Cave, cabinet spokesperson for children’s services, said: “I’m delighted that another of our children’s homes has received a good Ofsted rating.”
