A FUNDRAISER in aid of a five-year-old who is battling cancer saw about 750 attend last weekend.
Carter Jones has a Wilms tumour – a rare childhood cancer which affects just 80 children every year – and subsequent scans have shown that the cancer has spread to Carter’s vena cava, the main vein to the heart.
A fundraising day was held at The Bridge Inn, Monk Bretton, organised by family friends Samantha Peacock and Carrie-Ann Smith.
Carter’s mum, Amie Finney, said: “It was a great turnout and proceeds will also go to PACT, a children’s cancer charity which has helped us so much while we’ve been in hospital.
“I can’t thank my friends for organising the day enough, and The Bridge Inn’s owners.”
