MORE than 80 per cent of Barnsley residents aged 12 and over have had their first dose of the Covid vaccine.
The vaccination programme, which started in December last year, has been in full swing for a number of months.
A total of 180,868 people have had their first dose - equating to 81.4 per cent of the eligible population.
More than three quarters of Barnsley residents are also double-jabbed.
Both of the town’s figures are above the national average.
