A WORLD-FAMOUS local band has welcomed four new highly-seasoned musicians to its ranks.
Grimethorpe Colliery Band are thrilled to announce that Chris Gomersall, Mark Frost and Andy Holmes have returned to the band on solo trombone, bass trombone and solo cornet respectively, while Paul Argyle on soprano cornet makes his debut with the band.
The band’s musical director, Ben Dixon said, “We are thrilled to welcome such high quality and experienced musicians to Grimethorpe Band. Their talent and wealth of experience will elevate the band's performances and we look forward to an exciting musical journey ahead with such esteemed individuals joining our already talented team.”
The band's next appearance will be at the Yorkshire Brass Band Championships on Sunday (March 2) at Huddersfield Town Hall.
