STAFF at Barnsley Hospice received a colourful boost with the donation of rainbow scrubs.
The scrubs were made by seamstresses from the Penistone branch of the Love of Scrubs group.
Throughout the pandemic the group has helped to make patterned scrubs for staff at Barnsley and Rotherham Hospital to help combat shortages in the sector.
“One of our members saw that the hospice were asking for scrubs on their Amazon wish list,” said Tina Outram, a member of the Penistone branch. “We got in contact with the hospice and began making the scrubs out of colourful material – which turned out to be covered in rainbows which we thought was really fitting.”
In total, the group completed six pairs of scrubs which Tina hopes will help cheer up staff and patients.
“We were very happy with how they turned out,” added Tina. “We have made hundreds of pairs of scrubs throughout the pandemic and it's always nice to feel like we are making a difference – no matter how small.
“The hospice has been in need of a lot of help over the past year, and we are very happy we could help.”
