A POPULAR pizza chain could soon open up in Hoyland if plans are deemed acceptable by the council.

An application has been put forward to turn the former Fultons shop, on Market Street, into a Domino’s chain.

A report states: “The site comprises a vacant retail unit (Class E), having most recently been occupied as a food retail store which ceased trading in circa 2021.

“The hot food takeaway will open 11am to 11pm daily and will generate a number of part-time and full-time jobs for local residents.

“The site will exclusively operate a takeaway service via collections and deliveries.”

A total of 28 neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date.

Public consultation ends on December 4.
