A POP-UP Covid and flu vaccine drop-in session for people with learning disabilities and school-age children has been hailed a success by bosses.

The session took place on October 29 at Library @ the Lightbox in the town centre.

In total, 46 Covid and flu vaccines were given out with 13 flu vaccines being delivered via a nasal spray method rather than injection.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire ICB said: “The event was a real success as the winter vaccine campaign continues to be rolled out across South Yorkshire.

“The pop up helped to open vaccines access for vulnerable people in a quick and efficient way, giving them all important protection for winter.

“It is especially important for people with learning difficulties to get vaccinated.

“As the cold weather persists it is important for vulnerable people to get vaccinated against Covid and flu.”
