A MAN has been charged with murder after the death of a woman in Middlecliffe on Sunday.
Craig Woodhall, 40, formerly of Windsor Crescent, Barnsley has been charged with murder and remanded in custody after the death of a 31-year-old woman. Police were called to Windsor Crescent just before 5pm on Sunday following reports that a woman had been stabbed. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem carried out on March 30 concluded that the woman’s cause of death was multiple stab wounds. Woodhall will appear at Sheffield Crown Court today. A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: "Formal identification is yet to take place and the woman’s family is receiving support from specially trained officers. “The public are asked to be mindful of comments posted on social media and to respect the family’s privacy at this difficult time. “Enquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and anyone with information is asked to contact police.” If you have any information about the case contact 101, quoting incident number 471 of March 29.
