A RETIRED midwife from Penistone has just released her second book and is set for a book signing today.
Diane Chesterton, 65, is in the midst of her ‘Hidden Legacy’ trilogy – and after releasing her second book recently she’s ready to start her third.
She released her first book, called Molly’s Ghost, last year and then the second instalment ‘Molly’s Nemesis’ was released last month.
Diane said: “This will be a trilogy eventually called The Hidden Legacy.
“It’s taken quite a long time to write the book.
“I retired as a midwife ten years ago.”
After retiring, Diane’s husband, son and mum were all taken ill in one way or another – and that’s when her writing began to flourish.
“I started to write to stop my brain from losing it,” she added.
“It all developed from there.
“I’ll admit that at the start my writing was rubbish but it helped me and now I’ve released two books.
“I think it’ll be a couple of years until the third book as I’ve got a lot of other things in my life.”
The book can be bought on Amazon and Diane is hosting a book signing session today at WH Smith’s in Meadowhall from 10am.
