FOUR University Campus Barnsley (UCB) Sport students had a unique opportunity to set-up their own initiative aimed at increasing sports participation within schools.
The students worked with Horizon Community College to deliver a year 6 transition initiative designed to help school pupils get involved in sports coaching sessions.
The students negotiated the terms of the project, facilitated and evaluated the project. The sessions were arranged by Sports students Dan Guest, Oliver Connolly, Haydn Ward and Connor Campbell as part of their course.
Tom West, Community Enterprise Co-ordinator at Horizon Community College, said: “I would like to say how professional the four students who worked with us on this project were.
"I have nothing but praise for their hard work, professionalism, and flexibility around organising and delivering such an important project for us.”
