THE Civic in Barnsley are preparing to showcase their major autumn exhibition Knitwear: Chanel to Westwood.
There will be over 150 inspirational knitwear pieces from the collection of Mark and Cleo Butterfield.
Fashionistas will be able to to see highlights from designs by Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel and rare crocheted evening dresses from the 1930s to late 20th century innovations by Vivienne Westwood.
Curator at the Civic, David Sinclair said: “The Gallery at The Civic, is delighted to be hosting this major retrospective from the Fashion and Textile Museum.”
Knitwear: Chanel to Westwood is on show to the public from September 5 to November 13.
Yorkshire Fashion Archive will exhibit at The Civic in the Panorama gallery between Saturday, September 5 and Saturday, November 14.
The Civic Gallery will also host a Crafting for Carers Knit2gether activity sessions on Saturday, September 5, Saturday, October 10 and Saturday, October 31.
All exhibitions are free to enter.
